This Kodi Bear filly has shown plenty of promise on her first 3 starts and she still looked a bit green when asked to settle it at Dundalk last month. Back on turf should suit and with first-time blinkers applied I’m anticipating a big run.

Her trainer has had a couple of placed efforts from handicap debutants from a small sample size so I’m surprised you can still get odds against about her running into the frame and the 5/1 makes appeal too from an each way perspective as I think the market has got this one wrong.

Aidan O’Brien has his string in rude health right now and DUBLIN ran out an impressive 4-length winner on debut at Listowel last month. He still looked far from the finished article but was always well positioned and ran on strongly. He has more to come with that under his belt and despite this being a step up now contesting Listed company there is lots to be encouraged by again. Mutasarref has won 3 of his last 5 and looks the obvious danger.
Sedgefield 4.45 Barrons Land (2/1)
With 3 wins from her last 5 BARRONS LAND should be hard to oppose here. She was impressive over this C&D back in May and again looked good at Worcester. She is up another 5lb but Charlie Maggs is good value for his claim and partners again. Hostile Hotelier didn’t shape badly on return at Worcester last month and now in first-time cheekpieces is quite interesting so could be the danger. Let’s Go Joe is another one to note.
Ayr 5.05 Trojan Sun (13/8)
This looks a good opportunity for TROJAN SUN to get back in the winners enclosure. This 4yo showed a good attitude to get his head back in front at Musselburgh on penultimate start and then didn’t do much wrong in defeat in a good race at Chester last time. He arrives at the top of his game and with just the five rivals to beat here should be the answer. Catalan King is likely to improve now handicapping so watch the market on that one.
Newcastle 8.30 The Cookstown Cafu (7/4)
The money came for THE COOKSTOWN CAFU on debut for David O’Meara over this C&D and he didn’t let backers down travelling strongly into the race before winning narrowly. He is used to running in better races than this so I think he is a good bet to make it 2-2 on this surface and probably at the main expense of Streak Lightning. The latter also won over C&D last month but he’ll need them to go hard early as it panned out perfectly last time.
