Aston Villa To Win

Having racked up an incredible fourteen match winning streak at home in the league between the tail end of the 2022/23 Premier League season and the beginning of the 2023/24 season, I am backing Villa to grab another win at home this afternoon to continue Unai Emery’s impressive record at the club.

When the Spaniard took over, few would have believed that he would preside over impressive home wins over the likes of Brighton (with a 6-1 hammering), West Ham, consecutive home wins over Manchester City & Arsenal, followed up with European wins over Ajax, Lille and the most recent one over Bayern Munich in midweek.

Ollie Watkins To Have 2+ Shots On Target

Ollie Watkins is likely to lead the line for Villa once more, with midweek match winner Jhon Duran pushed to a number 10 role due to injuries John McGann, Jacob Ramsey and Leon Bailey.

Watkins has already amassed nine shots on target in the league campaign so far this season, at a rate of 1.82 shots on target per 90. However, just two of those have come away from home, with seven at home at a rate of 2.64 shots on target per 90 at Villa Park.

Watkins managed one shot on target at home to Arsenal in 65 minutes, followed up by four against Everton, and two against Wolves. I’m backing him to rack up a couple here against a vulnerable looking Manchester United defence.

Joshua Zirkzee To Have A Shot On Target

Whilst he has only managed one goal for his new club, Joshua Zirkzee has typically been good for a shot on target this season, managed at least one in four of his five starts for the Red Devils.

With six shots on target so far in the league, at a rate of 1.52 per 90, the Dutchman will continue to look to get into dangerous positions, particularly on the counter. Those six shots on target have come from just eight shots overall, pointing to an efficiency that has been missing from many of his team mates.
