20:00 Tuesday

Arsenal returned to winning ways domestically with a convincing win over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League and will hope to do the same in the Champions League when they travel to Portugal to face Sporting Lisbon.

Sporting CP vs Arsenal Prediction

Joao Pereira oversaw a resounding 6-0 win over Amarante in the cup at the weekend in his first game as Sporting CP boss following Ruben Amorim's appointment as Manchester United boss.

Arsenal ended a three-game winless run with a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest. The Gunners have, though, won only one of their last seven away games.

Sporting have won nine on the bounce at home, which includes a 4-1 win over Manchester City, and they may just secure another three points on Tuesday.

Score Prediction: Sporting 3-1 Arsenal

Sporting CP vs Arsenal Bet Builder Tips

Our bet builder for Sporting vs Arsenal backs both team to score, Bukayo Saka and Viktor Gyokeres to have over 0.5 shots on target and Gyokeres over 1.5 fouls.

At the time of publishing it is a best price of 10/1 with BetMGM.

Both of these sides are prolific goalscorers with Arsenal scoring 21 times in the Premier League (1.75 a game) and Sporting scoring a whopping 39 in 11 (3.54 per game) in the Portuguese league.

While both sides have seen clinical going forward, they have allowed goals to slip in recent games with Sporting conceding in four of the last five and Arsenal conceding in four of the last six games.

Sporting beat City 4-1 and proved that despite competing in a lesser league they have what it takes to compete with the best of the Premier League - both sides should find the net.

Saka stepped up for Arsenal against Nottingham Forest, scoring and assisting once. He also had six shots in this fixture, hitting the target twice.

He averages 1.16 shots on target in the Premier League and 1.33 in the Champions League and off the back of such a positive performance I expect Arsenal's main man to step up again.

Viktor Gyokeres is the topic of much discussion at the moment and it is no surprise to see why - the forward has an incredible 16 goals in 11 games in the league and five in four in the Champions League, including a hat-trick against Man City.

He scored five goals in his recent international break and is absolutely flying at the moment. He averages 1.73 shots on target per game in the Portuguese league and 1.5 in the Premier League. With a number of potential suitors watching on he will be keen to impress.

He also sees an increase in fouls in games Sporting have less possesion than they are used to - he averages 2.3 fouls per game in the Champions League and has picked up over 1.5 fouls in all three of the games where Sporting had 50% or less possesion in this competition (over 2.5 in two).
