Arsenal Win

Arsenal continued their title hunt with a scrappy 1-0 home win over Ipswich, which Liverpool responded to with a 0-5 win at West Ham. The Gunners remain nine points off the Reds and look unlikely to win their first Premier League title in over twenty years.

Mikael Arteta’s side are now unbeaten in 11 in all competitions and remain in the Carabao Cup and Champions League. While Arsenal remain so far away from the leaders, they have lost just twice in the league so far.

While Brentford have the second-best home record in the league with 22 points in nine home games, they come into this game without a win in four, including their first home defeat of the season to Nottingham Forest.

Thomas Frank’s side are riddled with injuries and come into this game with as many as 11 players out, including first-choice goalkeeper Mark Flekken and six players in the defensive line, meaning young players from the B team may have to step up.

With The Bees form, coupled with their injury crisis, Arsenal should secure the win against fellow Londoners.

Both Teams To Score

Despite Brentford’s recent woes, they have looked strong in attack. Only Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal have scored more than The Bees 32 this campaign, with Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo scoring nineteen of these goals between them.

They’ve also conceded 32 goals. Only West Ham, Wolves and the bottom three have conceded more. At the G-Tech Community Stadium, Frank’s side have scored 26 and conceded 16, with their games averaging 4.66 goals.

While Arsenal’s 16 goals conceded is the fewest in the league, they have conceded 10 goals in their nine away games, conceding in their last seven on the road. Brentford will fancy their chances of getting a consolation goal in an Arsenal win.

Kai Havertz Card

While Kai Havertz’s goal return may not warrant the hefty price tag he came with, his versatility and tenacity are key to Arteta’s side. The German usually plays up front but has often been deployed in centre midfield.

With Gabriel Jesus in goalscoring form, Havertz may play deeper on Wednesday again. This season, he is averaging 1.82 fouls per 90, finding himself in the referee’s book three times in 17 starts.

The 25-year-old played centrally in the 1-0 win against Ipswich, making two fouls in ninety minutes and found himself in Darren England’s notebook. This season, ten central midfielders have been booked against Brentford.

Yoane Wissa Over 1.5 shots

If Brentford are to get a positive result against Arsenal, the strike duo of Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbuemo will be crucial. The DR Congo international has started seven home games this season, averaging 2.90 shots per 90. Wissa has had a shot in six of his seven home games.

On the road this season, Arsenal have conceded 12.92 shots per 90. If Brentford get close to this total, expect Wissa to have at least two shots.
