20:00 Tuesday

Arsenal look to take a step towards their first Champions League final since 2006 as they face PSG in the first leg at the Emirates tonight.

Arsenal vs PSG Prediction

  • Arsenal had the weekend off due to Crystal Palace's involvement in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday, and won't have played for almost a week by the time of the match.
  • The Gunners are unbeaten in 12 heading into the game against the French side, but have won just six times in that run.
  • A 3-1 loss to Nice on Friday night means PSG have won only one of their last four matches in all competitions.
  • Both sides met in the league phase of the Champions League at the Emirates, a game that Arsenal won 2-0.
  • Arsenal have won seven of their last eight Champions League outings, and while this semi-final first leg clash will be closer than the meeting between the pair earlier in the season, the Gunners should claim victory this week.

Score Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 PSG

Arsenal vs PSG Team News

  • Mikel Arteta has issues in midfield with Jorginho and Thomas Partey missing due to injury and suspension, respectively.
  • Mikel Merino is, along with Ben White and Riccardo Calafiori, a doubt, and Arteta will hope to have his compatriot available for selection to potentially anchor the midfield.
  • Merino dropping into midfield would see Leandro Trossard lead the charge for the Gunners.
  • Gabriel Jesus, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Magalhaes are all ruled out for the home side.
  • PSG have a clean bill of health ahead of Tuesday's trip to Arsenal with no injury or suspension concerns.
  • Luis Enrique made minimal changes for Friday's surprise home loss to Nice but may bring Bradley Barcola into the XI in place of Desire Doue.
  • Otherwise, expect Enrique to continue with his strongest lineup for the game in London.

Arsenal vs PSG Bet Builder Tips

Our Bet Builder for Arsenal vs PSG is Ousmane Dembele 3+ Shots, Both Teams to Score & Nuno Mendes to be Carded.

At the time of publishing it is a best price of 16/1 with bet365.

  • Dembele has been PSG’s main attacking threat, thriving without Kylian Mbappe. He averages 3.3 shots per game in the league and 4.8 in the Champions League, and his pace could exploit Arsenal’s full-backs. PSG’s counter-attacking style suits his directness, and he’s likely to test Arsenal’s defence multiple times especially with a depleted defence.
  • Arsenal’s defence is weakened without Gabriel and Thomas Partey (suspended), with Jakub Kiwior filling in. They’ve conceded in four of their last six games across competitions, including against Brentford, Everton and Crystal Palace. PSG’s attack, featuring Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Bradley Barcola, is prolific, with an 18-game away scoring streak. Arsenal can exploit PSG’s set-piece frailties (32% of goals conceded this season are from set-pieces). Arsenal will also know just how crucial taking a lead to the Parc Des Princes will be so expect them to go for goal.
  • Nuno Mendes is tasked with marking Arsenal's main threat and tricky winger, Saka. Arsenal will want to get the ball to his feet as much as possible and try to cause PSG's full back as many issues as possible as he did against Alaba in the quarter-final (who ended up being carded). Mendes has three yellows in the Champions League this season already. Saka averages 1.9 fouls drawn in the Champions League.
