20:00 Friday

Anfield raises the curtain on the 2025/26 Premier League season this Friday, with champions Liverpool welcoming a Bournemouth side looking to spoil the party.

Arne Slot’s men will be heavy favourites, backed by a solid home record last season and a summer of big big investments designed to keep Liverpool on top in the title race.

New arrivals Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Hugo Ekitike have already offered glimpses of their quality and Liverpool’s firepower (even without Alexander Isak) looks well equipped to trouble a Cherries defence that has lost all their stars.

Bournemouth proved last season they can punch above their weight delivering a club-record Premier League points tally. However, injuries to key attackers and a miserable history at Anfield (six straight defeats with a 23-2 aggregate) leave them facing a tough challenge on Friday.

With Mohamed Salah’s love affair with opening day and Liverpool’s 12-year unbeaten run in Premier League season openers it’s hard to see anything other than a convincing Liverpool win here.

In this fixture last season, there were 38 shots with 19 of those on target (13 from Liverpool). Stats which make Sky Bet's new customer offer for tonight's match all the more eye-catching - they are offering a massive £10 in free bets for every Liverpool shot on target up to £60!

Liverpool vs Bournemouth Bet Builder Tips

Macca's bet builder for Liverpool vs Bournemouth is Hugo Ekitike AnyTime Goalscorer & Tyler Adams To be shown a card. At the time of publishing it was a best price of 15/2 with Unibet.

Ekitike Anytime Goalscorer

The French forward wasted no time making an impression with a superb debut strike in the Community Shield, It was a lovely movement to open out his body to create the extra yard of space and a composed finish, showing just why he’s worth the money they spent on him.

With Liverpool expected to dominate possession and create chances in abundance against a depleted Bournemouth defence, Ekitike should get plenty of service from the likes of Wirtz and Salah.

The Cherries have lost six straight league games at Anfield, conceding 23 goals in that run and their reshuffled backline should struggle to contain him.

It’s not a case of marking him out the game because there are so many other potent players in this Liverpool to deal with too.

Ekitike acquired a 23.09 xG in 33 appearances at Eintracht Frankfurt last season. With delivery from the likes of Salah, you can expect him to still receive many high quality chances.

Both Salah and Ekitike are central to the best value bet builders advised as part of our new Bet Builders hub - comparing the best prices available through oddschecker.

Tyler Adams To be Shown a Card

Tyler Adams should have his work cut out this evening having to protect his new backline. The 26 year old committed the second most fouls in the team last season averaging 2.06 per 90 and picking up three cards in his last seven starts.

Referee Anthony Taylor isn’t the best referee for us here so if you’re taking this as a single, I’d definitely shop around for the best price as it looks like the bookies are offering up some big price differences for him to be booked.
