Rangers, languishing at the bottom of the Europa League table, face a tough challenge against Roma, who are looking to climb from their current 23rd position.

Rangers vs Roma Form & Head to Head

Rangers suffered a 3-1 defeat away to Celtic in the League Cup in their last match. Overall, the Light Blues' form has been inconsistent. Their last six matches include a win against Hibernian (0-1), a win against Kilmarnock (3-1), a defeat against Brann (3-0), and draws with Dundee United (2-2) and Falkirk (1-1).

Roma were defeated 1-0 away to AC Milan in their last Serie A fixture. The Giallorossi's recent form has been mixed, with wins against Sassuolo (0-1), Parma Calcio 1913 (2-1), and losses to Viktoria Plzen (2-1), and Inter (1-0).

The two teams have no recent head to head data to analyse.

Rangers vs Roma Team News

  • Rangers will be boosted by the return of Connor Barron from suspension, but Rabbi Matondo (knee), Dujon Sterling (Achilles) and Kieran Dowell (foot) remain sidelined through injury. Rohl could rotate his side following a demanding clash with Celtic, with Djeidi Gassama, Mikey Moore and Bojan Miovski among those pushing for starts. Miovski may replace the out-of-form Youssef Chermiti up front, while Moore is an option to come in for Aasgaard.
  • Roma, meanwhile, are forced into changes after Paulo Dybala was ruled out for three weeks with an injury sustained during his missed penalty at the weekend. With Evan Ferguson (ankle) also unavailable, Artem Dovbyk is expected to lead the line, supported by either Leon Bailey or Lorenzo Pellegrini. Angelino (bronchitis) and the ineligible duo Tommaso Baldanzi and Devis Vasquez will also miss Thursday’s clash.

Rangers vs Roma Match Prediction

Rangers will be desperate to end their six-game European losing streak when they host Roma, but fatigue from Sunday’s gruelling Old Firm defeat could take its toll.

Danny Rohl’s side have shown flashes of improvement domestically, yet their defensive fragility remains a major concern against higher-quality opposition.

Roma, meanwhile, arrive in Glasgow eager to respond after back-to-back Europa League defeats dented their qualifying hopes.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s men have looked far more composed in Serie A and should have enough attacking quality to edge this contest.

Score Prediction: Rangers 1-2 Roma
