Over 1.5 cards for each team
This fixture is a Midlands derby with a history of plenty of cards. The last nine meetings between Wolves and Aston Villa have averaged 5.8 cards per game with both teams picking up at least two cards in seven of those. This leg of our betbuilder has also cashed in all six head-to-heads at Molineux and so we clearly have two sides who lose their heads against one another.
Wolves have been shown at least two cards in seven of nine games on their own patch under Rob Edwards whilst Villa’s away games have seen them average 1.82 cards and their opponents 2.23. Referee Craig Pawson isn’t an ideal appointment, however, this bet landed both times he last officiated Wolves and Villa games and he also recently lost control of Man City’s trip to Anfield where he showed six yellows and a red.

Yerson Mosquera Over 0.5 shots
Since Edwards’ arrival at Molineux, the hosts have had a clear focus on attacking set pieces and as a result, Yerson Mosquera has become a prolific threat in the opposition box. The Colombian defender has managed 1.14 efforts at goal per 90 this season and has been in excellent recent form with 12 shots in his last seven starts. That includes five shots against Man City and three versus Chelsea and so he won’t be phased by the visit of Villa.
This looks a good match-up for Mosquera to get at least one shot off as Aston Villa give up the sixth most shots from dead ball situations in the Premier League at 4.15 per 90. Our man managed two attempts in the reverse fixture and given that the visitors are consistently conceding opportunities to opposition centre backs, he looks well placed to continue his spell of shooting.
Hugo Bueno to be fouled Over 0.5 times
Hugo Bueno has been another beneficiary of Edwards’ reign as he’s nailed down the left wing back spot and is consistently drawing late contact from his opponents. The Spaniard has been felled at least once in nine of his last 11 league games and in seven consecutive starts in front of the Wolves faithful.
With Bueno bombing forward at every opportunity, he’s likely to be tracked by Matty Cash and Leon Bailey who are committing 3.11 fouls per 90 between them. Seven of the last eight left backs to oppose the Villans have been fouled at least once and having already noted how feisty we can expect this game to be, Bueno looks more likely to be on the receiving end of a foul than his odds suggest.
