West Ham to Win & Both Teams to Score

West Ham vs QPR | Championship | 8:00pm

West Ham to win and both teams to score is the standout selection on Friday night. The Hammers have been the Championship's leading scorers, registering 18.7 expected goals across their opening eight league matches, while QPR have found the net in three of their four away fixtures.

There is plenty to like about the hosts' attacking output, but their defensive record leaves room for improvement. West Ham have conceded in six of eight league games, and QPR have scored six goals on their travels so far. That combination makes the goals-against angle appealing alongside a home victory.

However, QPR's attacking absences are a significant concern, with strikers Richard Kone and Rumarn Burrell both unavailable.

PSV -1 European Handicap

PSV Eindhoven vs Heerenveen | Eredivisie | 7:00pm

PSV have scored 24 goals in seven Eredivisie matches this season and have won four of those fixtures by at least two goals. Their attacking numbers make them an appealing option to cover the European -1 handicap against Heerenveen.

The hosts have also enjoyed an excellent recent record in this fixture, winning their last four meetings and remaining unbeaten in their last 17 home league games against Heerenveen. PSV's ability to create chances in volume should give them opportunities to establish control, particularly at the Philips Stadion.

There are, however, reasons to be cautious. PSV are without a fit recognised striker, several internationals have only recently returned, and a Champions League trip to RB Leipzig follows next Tuesday.

Despite the concerns, PSV's firepower and home record make the handicap worth considering.

Lyon to Win

Lens vs Lyon | Ligue 1 | 7:45pm

Lyon head into Friday's clash in better form, unbeaten across their opening five Ligue 1 matches and having conceded just twice. They have also won their last two games across competitions, scoring six goals in the process, and another victory would temporarily send them to the top of the table.

Lens, meanwhile, have gone four league games without a win and sit 15th with just four points. Although they continue to create chances, their inability to turn those opportunities into goals has contributed to their difficult start.

The visitors therefore have a strong case, particularly given their recent defensive results away from home. However, this is not a straightforward away win. Lyon are dealing with defensive absences, including Moussa Niakhaté and Nicolás Tagliafico, while Afonso Moreira's replacement at centre-back will need to adapt quickly to a new partnership.

Lens are also creating enough opportunities to trouble a makeshift defence however.
