Another night of EFL action is upon us, and we’ve put together an exciting 18/1 acca featuring tonight’s fixtures.
Tuesday brings a mix of League One, League Two and Carabao Cup action, offering plenty of opportunities to build an EFL accumulator. Our five-fold combines three match-result and goals markets with two selections backing goals at both ends of the pitch.
Bradford City are backed to continue their strong run against struggling Peterborough United, while Arsenal are expected to overcome Fleetwood Town without conceding. Elsewhere, we are looking at goals in MK Dons vs Bromley, backing Luton Town to beat Doncaster Rovers in a game where both teams could score, and expecting Barnet and York City to find the net.
The five selections combine to offer best odds of 16/1 at bet365 at the time of writing.
Leg 1: Bradford City to Beat Peterborough United @ 4/6
Bradford City are our first selection, with the Bantams in a much stronger position than Peterborough United heading into their Carabao Cup meeting.
Bradford sit third in League One, while Peterborough are down in 21st. The difference in defensive performance is particularly striking, with Peterborough having conceded 21 goals. Only Bromley, with 26, have let in more, highlighting the problems Bradford could exploit.
The Bantams have been difficult to beat, going 11 games unbeaten, while Peterborough have gone three matches without a win. Bradford's defensive record is especially encouraging, having kept five consecutive clean sheets. Peterborough, by contrast, have failed to keep a clean sheet in 11 straight games.
That contrast gives Bradford a clear platform. They have demonstrated that they can shut opponents out, while Peterborough have struggled to prevent goals at the other end.
The head-to-head record also favours the home side. Bradford are unbeaten in their last four meetings with Peterborough, winning three of those matches. The Posh have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 12 head-to-head encounters, suggesting Bradford have regularly found ways to trouble them.
Leg 2: Arsenal to Win to Nil at Fleetwood Town @ 8/13
Arsenal travel to Fleetwood Town as strong favourites, and we are backing Mikel Arteta's side to win without conceding.
Fleetwood are 18th in League Two and just two points above the relegation zone. They face a significant step up in quality against an Arsenal side that has been difficult to break down in recent weeks.
Arsenal have conceded just once across their last four matches, with that goal coming in a 2-2 draw away to Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena. They are also unbeaten in their last five games, giving them a solid foundation heading into this cup tie.
The attacking numbers are encouraging, too. Arsenal have scored more than 2.5 goals in five of their last seven matches, showing that they have the firepower to put lower-league opposition under sustained pressure.
The combination of Arsenal's attacking threat and recent defensive record makes the win-to-nil market appealing. If the visitors establish control early, Fleetwood could find it difficult to create enough clear opportunities to threaten their goal.
There is one important caveat. Arteta could rotate heavily, giving younger players and members of his second string an opportunity to impress. That may affect Arsenal's fluency, particularly if several regular starters are rested.
Even with that risk, Arsenal have considerably greater squad depth and should have enough quality to progress while keeping Fleetwood off the scoresheet.
Leg 3: MK Dons vs Bromley, Both Teams to Score: Yes @ 4/6
Our third selection turns to League One, where MK Dons host Bromley in a fixture that could produce opportunities at both ends.
Neither side has been particularly convincing defensively. Bromley have gone six matches without a win and have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 12 games. That extended run without a shutout gives MK Dons a good opportunity to get on the scoresheet.
The attacking numbers offer further encouragement. MK Dons have scored 12 league goals this season, while Bromley have registered 10. Both sides have also recorded negative goal differences, suggesting that defensive problems have been a recurring theme.
The recent head-to-head record adds another reason to consider the goals market. MK Dons have not kept a clean sheet against Bromley in their last four meetings, losing two of those matches. Both teams have scored in three of the last four encounters.
That history points towards a competitive game rather than a straightforward home victory. MK Dons should have opportunities against a Bromley defence that has struggled to shut opponents out, but the hosts have also found it difficult to keep Bromley quiet in previous meetings.
Leg 4: Luton Town to Beat Doncaster Rovers & Both Teams to Score @ 15/8
Luton Town are our fourth selection, with the Hatters backed to take all three points despite the likelihood of goals at both ends.
Luton have been in strong form, winning five of their last six matches. Doncaster, meanwhile, have lost two of their last three games and two of their last three away matches. That contrast gives the home side the edge heading into this encounter.
However, Luton have not been particularly reliable defensively. They have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five matches, while both teams have scored in each of Luton's last five games. The Hatters have also been involved in high-scoring contests, with over 2.5 goals landing in five of their last six matches.
Luton's season figures illustrate the balance between their attacking quality and defensive vulnerabilities. They have scored 21 goals but conceded 19, suggesting that their games can remain open even when they are performing well.
Doncaster's recent results offer further encouragement for the goals angle. Over 2.5 goals has landed in five of the last six games for both sides, while the visitors have also struggled to secure clean sheets in this fixture.
The head-to-head record gives Luton another advantage. They are unbeaten in their last three meetings with Doncaster, who have failed to keep a clean sheet against the Hatters in six consecutive encounters. Both teams have scored in four of the last six meetings.
This selection combines Luton's stronger recent form with the likelihood of another open game. The main risk is that Doncaster's recent struggles continue and they fail to score, but the odds of 15/8 offer a more attractive return than backing Luton to win alone.
Leg 5: Barnet vs York City - Both Teams to Score: Yes @ 1/2
The final leg comes from League Two, where Barnet host York City in a meeting between two sides with strong attacking numbers.
Barnet have scored 24 league goals this season, the highest total in the division according to the supplied figures. York have also been productive, scoring 21 times. With both teams capable of finding the net, this fixture offers another promising opportunity for the Both Teams to Score market.
Barnet's recent results support the selection. Both teams have scored in seven of their last eight matches, while the Bees have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last four games.
York arrive in good form, having gone five matches without defeat. Their attacking output has also translated into goals on the road, with both teams scoring in four of their last five away games.
The head-to-head record provides another useful angle. York have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last four meetings with Barnet, and both teams have scored in three of the last four encounters.
These figures suggest that neither defence has consistently managed to shut out the opposition in this fixture. Barnet's attacking strength should give them opportunities at home, while York's recent form and away scoring record make them capable of responding.
