Derby v Wigan

We have a few tight EFL matches being played this Tuesday, so instead of attempting to predict their results, I’ve gone for something a little different.

Derby County’s February-March slump is well underway: Frank Lampard’s men have lost their last four matches, and are at great risk of falling away from the play-offs.

Wigan have drawn their last four, and look to have just enough to survive this season.

But my tip for this match is for under 2.5 goals.

The Latics have conceded just three goals in their last five matches, and only 44% of their away games have seen over 2.5 goals – the same percentage as Derby’s matches at Pride Park.

The Rams’ goals have totally dried up recently – firing blanks in their last three Championship matches – so this tip certainly has legs.

under 2.5 goals - 1pt @ 8/11

Accrington v Blackpool

I’m also expecting under 2.5 goals for Accrington v Blackpool in League One.

Accrington’s over-2.5-goal-rate at home is 38%, while Blackpool’s on the road is a paltry 29% - the lowest in the league.

The Seasiders haven’t scored in their last three, which may see this one meander to a fairly dull conclusion.

under 2.5 goals - 1pt @ 79/100

Cheltenham v Bury

Finally, I’m backing both teams to score in Cheltenham’s clash with Bury.

Cheltenham’s home form has been imperious recently – winning seven of their last nine – though they’re still very much second-favourites against a Bury outfit who have won eight of their last 10 home and away, and look set for promotion.

65% of Bury’s away games have seen both teams score, and while it’s hard to envisage The Shakers firing a blank, Cheltenham have netted in their last 10 home matches, making BTTS a good prospect here.
