Let's hope for plenty of goalmouth fun with this 5/1 BTTS treble!
Brighton v Southampton
Brighton v Southampton may not look the most glamourous tie on paper, but it’s a very good BTTS prospect.
Only Arsenal and Chelsea have prevented Southampton from scoring away from home in their last six matches, and considering 63% of their games this season have seen both teams score, 11/10 looks fairly generous.
Brighton’s BTTS rate is a healthy 59%, and last kept a clean sheet against The Saints in 2012, so this is certainly worth keeping an eye on.
Aston Villa v Blackburn
Aston Villa and Blackburn are heading in very different directions, but both sides are fantastic BTTS candidates.
Tony Mowbray’s men have seen both teams score in a whopping 74% of their away games (the joint-highest percentage in the league), and have scored 13 and conceded 22 (!) in their last eight on the road.
Villa are another side who are rarely far from the action, and their BTTS rate at home is a tasty 68%.
At 5/6, this is my BTTS banker of the weekend.
Forest Green v MK Dons
Forest Green are fairly trusty when it comes to landing BTTS picks, and their clash with MK Dons should prove lucky once again.
64% of Rovers’ League Two matches have seen both teams score – the joint-highest rate in the league.
Of course, MK Dons must play their part as well, but a 68% BTTS rate away from home (the joint-highest) suggests they will.
