Wednesday's 8/1 treble visits Spain, Germany and The Netherlands!
Venlo v Utrecht - Eredivisie - 17:30
Our journey begins in the Eredivisie, where I’m backing in-form Utrecht to beat VVV-Venlo.
Though Utrecht will be away from home, they’ve not lost in seven matches, and three away wins on the spin – scoring 10 times in the process – gives me great confidence they’ll beat a Venlo side who have lost six of their last nine.
Venlo look to be safe from relegation, and this sense of ease should hopefully play into Utrecht’s hands, who are fighting off challengers for a Europa League play-off spot.
Athletic Bilbao v Levante - La Liga -18:30
Despite winning just one of their opening 14 La Liga matches, Athletic Bilbao have somehow dragged themselves to within three points of a European place – I’m backing them to maintain this pressure with a victory over lowly Levante.
Athletic have lost at home just twice all season, and a 2-0 win against Atletico Madrid last time out will give them great confidence heading into this clash on Wednesday.
It’ll be a big ask for Levante to get anything from San Mamés, and five away defeats from seven suggests they’ll fail to do so.
Schalke v Werder Bremen - DFB Pokal - 19:45
This last tip is a cracker: Werder Bremen to beat Schalke away from home in the DFB Pokal – priced at a delicious 24/13.
The fortunes of the two sides couldn’t have been more different this season. Werder are unbeaten in 2019, and currently sit 6th in the Bundesliga. Incredibly, they have scored in every single match this season, which is a truly remarkable record.
Schalke, on the other hand, look hapless. Die Königsblauen are 14th in the league, and have lost six of their last eight matches.
Werder have won their last three meetings against Schalke – two of which coming at the VELTINS-Arena; I’m confident they’ll win and progress to the semi-final.
