Emmen v Heerenveen - Eredivisie - 11:15

Picking an acca for Sunday was tough. There were a lot of 50:50 matches in Europe’s major leagues, and nothing really stood out for me. Instead, I’ve ventured further afield, starting in The Netherlands…

Mid-table Heerenveen have won four of their last six Eredivisie matches, and I’m expecting them to beat struggling Emmen away from home.

The hosts have one point from their last seven league matches, while Heerenveen have two wins from their last three on the road.

I like this at 7/5.

Heerenveen - 1pt @ 7/5

Ural v FK Yenisey - Russian Premier League - 12:00

My first of two Russian Premier League picks next, where I’m backing out-of-form Ural to beat bottom side Yenisey away from home.

Ural may have just one point from their last six league matches, but their last two home matches were narrow 1-0 defeats against Zenit and CSKA Moscow – this succeeding a run of seven matches without losing on home soil. Their recent record is poor, but so is their opposition.

Sitting 11 points below them, Yenisey have lost nine of their 11 away games – scoring just five times in total – so if there’s ever a match for Ural to return to winning ways, it’s against this lot.

Ural - 1pt @ 19/25

Goztepe v Akhisar Belediye - Turkish Super Lig - 14:00

Over in the Turkish Super Lig, I have third-bottom Goztepe to beat basement boys Akhisarspor.

Goztepe aren’t great, I won’t deny it, but they’ve still won six of their 12 home games this season – which isn’t bad for a side battling relegation.

Their opponents, Akhisarspor, have lost 10 of their 12 away games; like with Ural, this is a perfect opportunity for Goztepe to get back on track.

Goztepe - 1pt @ 23/25

Lokomotiv Moscow v Zenit St Petersburg - Russian Premier League - 17:00

From the bottom of the Russian Premier League to the top.

Lokomotiv Moscow trail leaders Zenit St. Petersburg by six points, but I’m backing them to secure victory on Sunday to keep the title race alive.

Zenit’s away form has been less-than-stellar this term (four defeats from their last seven), and you feel this inconsistency will eventually cost them dearly.

31/20 is a cracking price for a Lokomotiv win, and I feel their home advantage will carry them over the line against the leaders.

Lokomotiv Moscow - 1pt @ 31/20

Sporting v Rio Ave - Portuguese Primeira Liga - 20:00

If all is still well at this stage of the acca, I’d be confident of Sporting CP finishing the job at home against Rio Ave.

It’s looking like Sporting will have to settle for a Europa League spot, but they’ve won 12 of their 14 home games – with only Porto and Benfica taking points off them - while Rio Ave have lost four of their last six, and sit marooned in mid-table.

Sporting - 1pt @ 37/100
