Tuesday's 6/1 treble is an all-EFL affair!
Millwall v Bristol City
Three defeats in four matches has left Bristol City needing snookers to secure the final Championship play-off spot, but I believe they’ll claim a victory over Millwall on Tuesday to maintain the pressure on Derby and Middlesbrough.
The Robins have won five of their last nine away games—their victims including Middlesbrough and Sheffield United—and although The Lions are unbeaten in four at The Den, league safety being assured last Saturday will surely be on the minds of Neil Harris’ players.
City have picked up more points on the road than at Ashton Gate this season, and 5/4 seems reasonable for them to beat a Millwall side with little left to play for.
Portsmouth v Peterborough
Victory for Portsmouth on Tuesday would see them head into the final day of the season just one point behind Luton and Barnsley—the two sides who currently occupy the two automatic promotion places—and they’ll fancy at one of them dropping points on Saturday.
Pompey have won five of the last six matches against Peterborough, and with seven wins and one draw from their last eight in League One, I’m backing them to take the points.
It’s a big game for Posh’s play-off hunt as well, but four away defeats in their last seven doesn’t make me hopeful of their chances.
Newport County v Oldham
Seemingly from nowhere, Newport have the opportunity to move into the League Two play-off places if they beat Oldham on Tuesday.
Michael Flynn’s men have claimed the huge scalps of Lincoln and Bury in their last two outings at Rodney Parade, and I expect them to repeat the trick once again against Oldham.
A defeat against Exeter on Saturday ended a run of six games unbeaten for Latics—shattering any play-off hopes of their own—and for this reason I’m backing the South Wales outfit.
