Basel v LASK Linz - Champions League Qualifying - 19:00

Not too much in the way of football on Wednesday, but there is still some European action to get stuck into.

My first pick for Wednesday’s acca is Basel to beat LASK Linz in the first-leg of their Champions League qualifying match.

The Swiss outfit came through a gruelling tie with PSV Eindhoven previously, in which they triumphed courtesy of away goals, and the impressive 2-1 home victory to turn around their first-leg deficit is enough to convince me they’ll beat a LASK side who are less seasoned campaigners in Europe.

Basel - 1pt @ 4/6

Slovan Bratislava v Dundalk - Europa League Qualifying - 19:15

Over in the Europa League, I’m backing Slovan Bratislava to beat Dundalk at home with a -1 handicap.

Dundalk were hammered 3-0 away from home in their Champions League qualifier against Qarabag, and Slovakian champions Slovan will be keen to open up a healthy first-leg lead prior to their trip to Oriel Park.

Slovan were unbeaten at home in their last domestic campaign—winning five of their 11 matches by two goals or more—and 6/5 does strike me as decent value for a solid home win on Wednesday, despite Dundalk's dominance on Irish shores.
