Thursday's BTTS acca is priced at 4/1!
Spartak Moscow v Thun - 17:45
My early kick-off BTTS pick is Spartak Moscow v Thun.
Spartak wound up 3-2 winners in the first leg, but I’m confident this won’t be the end of the goals. Last season in the Europa League, Spartak conceded eight goals in their three home games (and also scored eight) against Villarreal, Rangers and Rapid Wien.
After such a crazy first leg, a borefest does look unlikely—particularly with Thun needing to score at least twice—and judging by Spartak’s recent home struggles in Europe, it looks a solid prospect.
13 of Thun’s 18 home games in Switzerland last season also saw both teams score, so this is a pick I like.
Braga v Brondby - 19:45
Later on, I have Braga v Brondby also seeing both teams score.
After their first-leg ended 4-2 in Braga’s favour, it’s another fixture which is full of BTTS promise.
Brondby have played five Europa League qualifiers this season—against FC Inter, Lechia Gdansk and the aforementioned Braga—and only one of these matches have seen a side keep a clean sheet.
The first leg against Braga showed both sides are very much attack-minded.
Like above, Brondby have to score, and that should result in an open game.
Rangers v FC Midtjylland
My final selection is Rangers v Midtjylland.
Steven Gerrard’s men registered a cracking 4-2 away win in the first leg, but it’s always safe to back BTTS when these two are concerned.
16 goals have been scored at either end during Rangers’ last three matches, and it’s generally foolish to assume they’ll keep a clean sheet.
As for Midtjylland, they’ve kept just one clean sheet in their last 16 Europa League matches, with 11 of the last 13 seeing both teams score.
