Don't be shy - tuck into this monster 19/1 Europa League double!
Legia Warsaw v Rangers - 19:00
I’ve gone for something slightly different here: a match result + BTTS double!
Predictably, I’ve whacked Rangers into this one, who have been a reliable BTTS pick since Steven Gerrard took over.
Rangers secured two brilliant BTTS victories against Midtjylland to reach this stage, and considering they’ve developed a well-deserved reputation of a side who score and concede plenty, their fixture at Legia Warsaw looks to be a solid selection in this market.
Legia look a poor side—particularly after seeing their home game against Atromitos in the previous round ending goalless—so while I see Gerrard’s men turning the Polish outfit over on Thursday, the chances of a home goal being scored (bearing in mind we’ve seen 23 goals over the course of their last five matches) are fairly high.
Rangers to win and both teams to score looks a solid bet at 22/5.
Gent v Rijeka - 19:30
My second selection is for Gent to beat Rijeka with both teams scoring.
Rijeka beat Aberdeen 2-0 twice over the course of their last qualifying tie, but the Belgian outfit will prove a much sterner test – one I don’t Rijeka passing in this first leg.
Gent finished 5th in the Belgian top division last season, but of the 10 home games they won, eight were after both teams scored.
The hosts have pedigree in this competition and should beat Rijeka in this first leg, but recent history suggests both teams will find the net along the way.
