Lille v St Etienne - 18:00
This acca starts with a cracking Ligue 1 match, where I’m backing both teams to score when Lille welcome St. Etienne.
Both teams have scored in the visitors’ opening two league matches this season, and with goals in 14 of their 19 away games last campaign (including one during a 3-1 defeat at Lille), this selection has serious legs.
Lille, who finished second last season, look a very strong outfit once again, and it’s going to be an incredibly tough ask for St. Etienne to shut them out on Wednesday.
Newcastle v Leicester - 19:45
Heading into the Carabao Cup, I have Leicester beating Newcastle away from home.
Leicester have won on their last three visits to St. James’ Park, and I don’t see Newcastle’s shock win at Spurs halting this pattern.
The Foxes’ superior squad depth will serve them well considering both sides will likely make wholesale changes, and so will recent form in this competition: Leicester have reached consecutive quarter-finals, Newcastle have crashed out at this stage two times in-a-row.
Rotherham v Sheffield Wednesday - 19:45
Another away win to end the acca: Sheffield Wednesday to beat Rotherham.
The Owls have enjoyed a fairly strong start to the season, and despite losing their last two on the road, I’m expecting them to have too much for a Rotherham side who have lost their two home matches in all competitions this season.
Wednesday have a good record at the New York Stadium—winning three and drawing one of their last four—and their quality might just tell once again on Wednesday.
