I had a little trouble finding viable picks on Monday: a lot of the big European matches had a draw written all over them, but these two look fairly solid.
First up, I look at the Dutch second tier, where I have Cambuur beating PSV Youth away from home.
The hosts find themselves rock bottom of the table—having lost four of their six matches—while Cambuur have inversely won four of their six, and sit happily in 5th, with the third-best defence in the league.
Cambuur have won their last three matches, scoring 10 in the process, and they’ve shown enough to feel confident heading into this Monday face-off.
Dundalk v Shamrock - Irish Premier Division - 19:20
It’s 1st v 2nd in Ireland, where I’m backing leaders Dundalk to increase their advantage at the top of the table over Shamrock Rovers.
Dundalk haven’t lost in the league in 22 matches (drawing just twice in that time), and this dominance has even extended over Rovers. The visitors are clearly the second-best side in the country, but they’ve lost their last two matches this season against Dundalk, and The Lilywhites simply look too strong—particularly at home—to slip-up here.
