MK Dons v Liverpool

Just a couple of selections on Wednesday, starting with Liverpool to beat MK Dons away from home with a -2 handicap.

The hosts have lost three of their last four home matches—including a 4-0 hammering against Peterborough and 1-0 defeat against a shockingly bad Southend side—and I expect Liverpool’s second XI to make short work of them.

While Jurgen Klopp will rest most of his big hitters, a side containing the likes of James Milner, Adam Lallana, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and co. will surely have enough to win this one at a canter.

Sheffield Utd v Sunderland

Finally, I have both teams scoring in Sheffield United v Sunderland.

The Black Cats have the incredible gift of scoring and conceding in almost every game they play—regardless of the quality of opposition or how they themselves play—and I can see this shaping up similarly.

The Blades have kept just one clean sheet in their four home games this season—including a 2-1 victory over Blackburn in this competition—while Sunderland have won both of their own Carabao Cup matches 3-1 away from home, against Accrington and Burnley.

10/11 for both teams to score in a fixture containing Sunderland against a Premier League side with significant loyalties elsewhere is well worth a punt.
