Saturday's 6/1 acca dives into The Championship and League One!
Blackburn v Luton - Championship
Blackburn Rovers are going along nicely under Tony Mowbray this season, and I’m backing them to beat Luton Town on Saturday to extend their current run of four wins from their last six.
They’re a typical Mowbray outfit: tough to beat, well-organised and rugged – everything Luton Town are not.
I’ll give it to them, the Hatters are certainly entertaining, but that’s primarily because they’ve shipped 16 goals already this season, and five defeats from their last seven—with six concessions in their last two—suggests Rovers should be able to pick them off.
Charlton v Leeds - Championship
After a brilliant start to the season, Charlton have stumbled to back-to-back defeats in the league, and another fruitless afternoon is surely in store when Leeds come calling on Saturday.
Lee Bowyer’s men succumbed to Birmingham during their last outing at The Valley, while Leeds have won all four of their away games – scoring 10 and conceding just once.
It’s tough to envisage anything other than a comfortable Leeds victory.
Ipswich v Tranmere - League One
Dipping down into League One, I have high-flying Ipswich beating Tranmere at Portman Road.
The unbeaten Tractor Boys look very strong; four victories from their last five (with five clean sheets) bodes nicely for this one, and it’ll take a huge effort for Tranmere—with one point from their four away games—to stop them.
Peterborough United v AFC Wimbledon - League One
Finally, I’m backing Peterborough to beat an AFC Wimbledon side in turmoil.
Dons boss Wally Downes faces a suspension after unscrupulous off-field activities, which isn’t going to help matters on the pitch, particularly considering they’re still winless in the league, with five defeats from five on the road.
Posh have a much stronger squad than Wimbledon, and they should use it to full effect on Saturday. They hammered Sunderland and Rochdale in their last two at home; don’t sleep on another similar outcome.
