Stockport v Hartlepool - National League - 19:45

Both selections for Wednesday are pretty tasty, and definitely over-priced.

In the National League, I’m expecting Hartlepool to register an away victory against Stockport. Looking at the table, you wouldn’t think there’s much to separate the two clubs, but the formbook suggests the visitors have the edge.

Incredibly, County have earned just one single point from their last six league outings—failing to score on five of these occasions—and therefore I believe 11/5 is not to be sniffed at.

Hartlepool ended a five-game winless run on Saturday as they beat high-flying Yeovil, and their away record does read fairly impressively, having won three of their last six on the road.

Stockport are floundering, and Hartlepool are a decent bet to take advantage.

Hartlepool - 1pt @ 11/5

Botafogo v Goias - Brazilian Serie A - 23:15

With so little football on Wednesday to get stuck into, I’ve had to travel across the Atlantic to Brazil, meaning it’s a late’un for my second selection: Goias to beat Batafogo on the road.

Once again, these two are both mid-table sides, but 5/2 for an away win is way over-priced in my opinion. Goias have won their last four matches, keeping a clean sheet on every occasion, and they look well-equipped to have a decent go on Wednesday.

Inversely, Batafogo have lost their last four games (scoring just once during this sticky period), which makes a low-scoring away win a decent likelihood.

Hopefully you’ll be waking up to a winner on Thursday morning…
