Oxford v Sunderland - 19:45

Oxford United to beat Sunderland at home is a really big price.

The hosts are League One’s second-top scorers (with 32 goals from their 15 matches), and are now unbeaten in their last 10 matches; they’ve also kept seven clean sheets during this run, which is equally as impressive.

Sunderland are still adjusting to life under Phil Parkinson, but in the cold, hard light of day, they’ve lost three of their last four league matches, and are without as much of a goal in their last three away.

Oxford are in fantastic form and should get the better of Sunderland in this intriguing tie.

Oxford - 1pt @ 6/4

Burton v Leicester - 19:45

To complete the double, I have Leicester beating Burton on the road with a -1 handicap.

Burton are unbeaten in their last four home games, but they have a real problem: they cannot score goals. The Brewers have failed to score in four of their six league games at the Pirelli Stadium this season, and that’s why I’m confident Leicester City’s victory will be by a relatively comfortable margin.

This is all before mentioning the Foxes stuck nine past Southampton in their last away game. Brendan Rodgers will fancy a decent go at this trophy, and he’ll want to show Burton no mercy.
