Kicking-off this quick-fire European treble, I have 3rd place Ajaccio beating struggling Chambly in Ligue 2.
The visitors are unbeaten in nine, and have won four of their seven away games; they also possess the second-best defence in the league, which is why I fancy their chances.
Furthermore, Chambly have just one home point from their last five, so it’s safe to say the visitors have the edge.
Marseille v Brest - Ligue 1 - 19:45
Hopping up a division, and Marseille look primed to beat Brest.
André Villas-Boas’ men are 2nd in Ligue 1, and will be full of confidence after three home wins on-the-trot.
Mid-table Brest are a little more streaky, but three defeats from their last five away games will give Marseille plenty of encouragement, and I’m expecting them to do the business.
Numancia v Malaga - Spanish Segunda - 20:00
Numancia are a really nice price to beat Malaga in the Spanish second division, so that’s what I’m going to end with.
The hosts are nine points and 11 places above Malaga, and have won three of their last five at home – losing only to a strong Real Zaragoza side.
Malaga have certainly unperformed this season, and three defeats from their last four on the road—bottom side Deportivo La Coruna their only victory—makes for less-than-impressive reading.
