Barnsley v Hull

The Championship dominates Saturday’s EFL action, although there’s still plenty of value on offer – starting with Hull at 8/5 to beat Barnsley away.

Gerhard Struber has an almighty job on his hands, and I believe things will get worse before they get better for The Tykes.

Though they’ve lost just one of their last four at Oakwell, this is still a fixture I fully expect Hull to win (not least because the hosts have lost their last three in all); Grant McCann’s men have earned seven points from their last three away games—despite very tough trips to Fulham and Nottingham Forest—and this brilliant run puts them in a great place ahead of Saturday’s clash.

With both sides at totally opposite ends of the form table, 8/5 is well worth nibbling at for The Tigers to do the business.

Hull - 1pt @ 8/5

Derby v QPR

I’m not a huge fan of this streaky Derby side, but they’re still overpriced at home to QPR.

Though The Rams have lost their last four on the road, five straight home victories (with clean sheets in their last four) isn’t to be sniffed at.

As for QPR, their fantastic run of form seems a long time ago; Mark Warburton’s men have just one point from their last five matches, and now possess the second-leakiest defence in the league.

6/4 looks pretty generous for a Derby win.

Derby - 1pt @ 6/4

Brentford v Luton

Finally, I expect Brentford to beat Luton.

Though the Hatters ended a five-match losing run against a woefully out-of-form Charlton side on Tuesday, Brentford will simply be too good for them.

The visitors have lost seven of their nine away games, while Brentford, despite losing against Blackburn on Wednesday, have still won five of their last seven, and are honestly better than their league position suggests.

The Bees should be taking the points.
