There's a tasty 4/1 treble to get stuck into this Wednesday!
Barcelona v Real Madrid - La Liga - 19:00
This season’s Clásico at the Camp Nou looks massive. Barcelona and Real Madrid are deadlocked at the top of La Liga—both on 35 points—but it’s the Catalans who I expect to win.
Real have won just one of the last nine league Clásicos (with Barca winning six), and this is the sort of hoodoo which won’t be lost on the players.
Indeed, Barca have been perfect on home soil—winning seven of seven, scoring 30 goals—while the visitors have only won half of their away games this season.
If you want to stand any chance of beating Barca at home this season, your away form needs to be top notch, and this isn’t the case with Zinedine Zidane’s men.
The home side have the edge in this monster match.
Eintracht Frankfurt v FC Koln - Bundesliga - 19:30
Eintracht Frankfurt and Koln have both struggled of late, but I expect the home side to claim the points in this one.
Adi Hutter’s men have lost four of their last five matches, but only three sides have a better home record than Eintracht in the Bundesliga.
As for Koln, they have just four points from their eight away games (the second-worst away record in the league, interestingly ahead of only Eintracht), and this disparity between home and away form for both sides is why I’m backing the hosts to get the job done.
Freiburg v Bayern Munich - Bundesliga - 19:30
Finally, I’m giving Freiburg a +3 handicap as Bayern come to town.
Incredibly, Freiburg are only two points behind Bayern, and possess the best home defence in the entire division. Furthermore, Bayern have won on just three of their last six visits to Schwarzwald-Stadion – with only one being by a margin of over a couple of goals.
The hosts are yet to lose by three goals this season, while Bayern have won just three of their seven on the road.
Even if the visitors win this one, it’ll be close.
