Sunday's Euro treble shoots at 5/1!
Bournemouth v Watford - Premier League - 14:00
Bournemouth and Watford’s fortunes have been going in drastically different directions for a fair while now.
On his return to the Premier League, Nigel Pearson has totally reinvigorated Watford, who are now on a run of four matches unbeaten – with three victories.
The Cherries aren’t looking quite so clever, winning just one of their last 10 matches (curiously against Chelsea), and with performances as bad as results suggests, they are well and truly in a relegation battle.
The two sides are going in different directions, and a Watford win/draw double chance looks the play here.
Gil Vicente v Belenenses - Portuguese Primeira Liga - 15:00
In Portugal, I’m backing Gil Vicente to beat Belenenses.
The hosts are unbeaten at home this season (as well as possessing the sixth-best home record in the entire league), and recent victories against Maritimo, Sporting and a draw against a decent Vitoria side stands them in good stead ahead of Sunday.
Belenenses, on the other hand, have lost four of their last five on the road – beating only a Tondela side with the worst home record in the division.
Gil Vicente will fancy this.
Verona v Genoa - Italian Serie A - 17:00
Finally, I have Verona beating Genoa in Serie A.
Genoa were taken to penalties by Torino in the Coppa Italia on Thursday, and while changes were made in personnel (not all 11 changes, I might add), the short trip to Turin will have still taken a toll
Furthermore, they have lost three of their last five matches in the league, and deservedly sit in the relegation zone.
Verona have been very impressive by their standards this campaign, and while their recent form has been inconsistent, the four of their last eight matches they haven’t won have come against Torino, Atalanta, Roma and Inter – all excellent sides, unlike Genoa.
