We visit Portugal and The Netherlands for Friday's 6/1 treble!
Zwolle v Utrecht - Dutch Eredivisie - 19:00
Kicking things off in The Netherlands, I’m backing Utrecht to beat Zwolle away from home.
Utrecht, who are pushing for a European place this year, have enjoyed themselves on the road this season, and have now won three of their last four away games – losing only to Ajax during this period.
Furthermore, Zwolle have the third-worst home record in the Eredivisie, and have lost nine of their previous 12 matches, home and away.
The visitors have won three of their last four matches against Zwolle, and they’re a decent price to do so once again.
Porto v Braga - Portuguese Primeira Liga - 19:00
My first of two Portuguese picks this Friday comes at Estádio do Dragão, where I’m confident Porto beat Braga.
Porto, at home, have won all seven of their matches without conceding a single goal, while Braga have lost 50% of their away games – failing to score on three occasions.
Braga have also tasted defeat in five of their last six games against Porto, so history isn’t on their side either.
Sporting Lisbon v Benfica - Portuguese Primeira Liga - 21:15
Finally, in another huge game, I’m picking Benfica to beat Sporting on the road.
Benfica have been nothing short of imperious of late, winning their last 13 in the league, as well as every single away game. Exceptional.
Sporting have been a tad inconsistent, and three home defeats from their last six matches isn’t going to worry such a formidable Benfica outfit.
Backing the visitors to extend their 100% run on the road at odds-against is the way to go in this one.
