Sunday Football Acca

My first of three Serie A picks on Sunday sees Verona hopefully claim the points against Lecca at home.

The hosts have generally enjoyed themselves at home, winning four of their last seven (with two of the occasions they’ve dropped points coming against Roma and Torino), while Lecce are in abysmal form, earning just one point from their last five games, albeit against Inter.

Furthermore, they’ve tasted defeat in three of their last four on the road, so I’m confident Verona will condemn them to another fruitless away day.

Next, I like the look of Roma losing to a Lazio side who are absolutely flying.

I Biancocelesti have incredibly won eleven consecutive league matches—with some hugely impressive scalps along the way—and I believe they’re a decent price to extend this run against Roma in this huge derby.

Roma have lost their last couple of home games (although with both sides’ home ground being Stadio Olimpico, it’s hard to know what bearing this’ll really have), and it’s Lazio’s momentum which I can see be the telling factor on Sunday.

Heading to Spain briefly, I have Real Sociedad beating Mallorca at home.

La Real haven’t been hugely impressive recently—winning just two of their last six in the league—but it’s Mallorca’s disgraceful away form which has drawn me to the hosts.

The visitors have earned just one point in their nine away games, scoring seven and conceding 22, so although Sociedad haven’t pulled up any trees, they should still feel supremely confident.

Finally, I like the look of Juventus beating struggling Napoli on the road.

Napoli have been all over the place under Gennaro Gattuso in recent weeks, and they’ve now lost their last four home games – despite facing just one side in the top six.

This doesn’t bode well for the arrival of Juve, who have won their last couple of matches against Napoli at the San Paolo, and sit pretty at the top of the division.

Juve at 11/10 are well worth backing.
