I have an all-European affair on Monday, starting with Kaiserslautern beating SG Sonnenhof Grossaspach in the German 3. Liga.
The hosts are in absolutely red hot form coming into this—winning five and drawing one of their last six matches—while the visitors are reeling.
Grossaspach, who are second-bottom, have picked up just two points from their last six matches, and considering Kaiserslautern have won their last couple of matches against the away side, I’m happy with backing them once again.
Guimaraes v Rio Ave - Primeira Liga - 18:45
Into Portugal next, where I’m backing Guimaraes to beat Rio Ave.
At home, Guimaraes are very strong – winning five of their last seven, losing only to strong Benfica and Braga outfits.
Rio Ave have lost three of their last five matches in all competitions, and have tasted defeat on their last four trips to Guimaraes – conceding three times on each occasion.
Perugia v Livorno - Serie B - 20:00
Last but not least, I’m looking at Perugia beating Livorno in Serie B.
Mid-table Perugia are by no means world beaters, but they’ve won two of their last four home games (scoring seven goals), and this is enough to convince me they get the job done against a woeful Livorno side.
The visitors have three points from their last nine games, and three points all season away from home (with three goals to show for their efforts) is a fairly atrocious return.
