Back Friday's treble at 5/1!
Istanbul Basaksehir v Genclerbirligi - Turkish Super Lig - 17:00
Friday’s treble starts in Turkey, where I have Istanbul Basaksehir beating Genclerbirligi with a -1 handicap.
The hosts have been formidable at home of late—winning six and drawing two of their last eight—and with their last three victories all coming by at least two goals, I’m hopeful of this 5/4 shot landing.
Furthermore, Genclerbirligi are flirting with relegation this season, and considering they’ve lost their last three on the road, all by at least two goals, there’s no way Basaksehir should be odds-against in this market.
AZ Alkmaar v Waalwijk - Eredivisie - 19:00
Another handicap next, this time in the Netherlands: AZ Alkmaar (-1) against basement boys Waalwijk.
AZ, with six wins from their previous eight at home (keeping clean sheets in five of these), should really make short work of Waalwijk, who have lost by at least two goals on eight occasions already this season.
The visitors have the worst defensive record in the whole division, while AZ have the best – which all boils down to a comfortable home win.
Rio Ave v Famalicao - Primeira Liga - 21:15
Finally in Portugal, I have Rio Ave beating Famalicao.
After their mind-blowing start to the season, Famalicao are finally coming back down to earth, losing four of their last seven in the league (as well as three of their last five on the road).
Not only this, but it’s suddenly becoming a very poor time to play Rio Ave. The hosts have won three on-the-trot, and three home victories in four (with three clean sheets), should justify backing them at 21/20.
