Lazio v Verona - Serie A - 19:45
Kicking-off in Italy, I have Lazio beating Verona at home and over 2.5 goals scored in total.
Not only have Lazio won nine of their last 10 home games, but they’ve scored at least three goals on eight of the last nine occasions.
In Ciro Immobile, Lazio have at their disposal one of the deadliest strikers in Europe, and there’s no doubt he’ll play a part on Wednesday as well.
Verona may be unbeaten in six games, but their last two away defeats (against Inter and Atalanta) both saw over two goals scored, and it’s hard to envisage this prolific Lazio outfit not enjoying similar success in front of goal.
St Etienne v Marseille - Ligue 1 - 20:00
My second pick is for Marseille to beat St. Etienne on the road.
The visitors are in scintillating form, with a 14-game unbeaten streak and eight wins from their last 11 in Ligue 1.
Furthermore, they’ve won their last couple of league games against St. Etienne, who are currently all over the place.
Les Verts have tasted defeat in five of their last six Ligue 1 outings, and considering this is probably the worst possible time to play Marseille, I’m happy taking the 6/4 for an away win.
