Tuesday's 17/1 EFL four-fold has a special Italian twist...
Brentford v Leeds - Championship - 19:45
I start with a huge game in the Championship, where Brentford have the opportunity to leapfrog struggling Leeds in the table…and I believe they will.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men are in absolute free-fall—losing four of their last five league games—and this trip to Griffin Park has come at the worst possible time.
The visitors have also fired blanks during these four defeats, and the most recent at Nottingham Forest (a game of similar magnitude to this) will no doubt have taken a huge mental toll.
As for the Bees, they’ve won seven of their last eight home matches, and three straight home wins against Leeds will give them even more confidence ahead of this pivotal fixture.
Swansea v QPR - Championship - 19:45
Staying in the Championship, I fancy Swansea to beat QPR at the Liberty.
The Swans have won just one of their last five in the league (which is presumably why they’re odds-against), but at home Steve Cooper’s side have been better – winning three of their last five.
However, it’s QPR’s away form which has really tempted me here; five straight defeats is frankly abysmal, which is why I believe the hosts are overpriced.
Forest Green v Port Vale - League Two
Hopping down to League Two, I’m backing a Port Vale win/draw double chance away at Forest Green.
The Valiants are in good form, most recently beating a Northampton side who had won eight of their previous nine home games (drawing the other), while a recent triumph against high-flying Exeter is further evidence of their very real play-off credentials.
Forest Green are going in the completely opposite direction. The hosts have won just two of their last 14 league games, and a run of four consecutive home defeats will give John Askey great belief his side can get a positive result on Tuesday.
*BONUS SELECTION* - Spezia v Cremonese - Serie B - 20:00
I’ve gone a little rogue for this final selection, but if you fancy boosting an 8/1 treble into a 17/1 four-fold, there’s a selection in Italy which represents massive value.
And that selection is Spezia to beat Cremonese in Serie B.
Spezia, who are 12 places and 11 points above Cremonese, have lost just once since October 5, and five wins and two draws from their last seven home game ensures they enter this tie with plenty of momentum.
As for Cremonese, they’ve got a rotten away record - earning just two points from their last seven games on the road.
Furthermore, Spezia have won their last couple of home games to nil against Cremonese, so odds-against for a home victory looks remarkably generous.
