After somewhat capitulating mid-week against Eintracht Frankfurt, I fancy Werder Bremen to lose once again on Sunday against Wolfsburg.
Bremen’s good run of seven points from three games was abruptly ended by then-relegation rivals Frankfurt, and odds-against looks a good price for Wolfsburg—who have the ability to seriously cause the hosts problems—to win.
Florian Kohfeldt’s men have been poor at defending set-pieces all season, and with dead-ball maestro Max Arnold amongst Wolfsburg’s ranks, they could be in for a long afternoon.
VfB Stuttgart v Osnabruck - 2. Bundesliga - 12:30
In the German second division, I have Stuttgart beating Osnabruck.
Stuttgart are embroiled in a tense promotion dogfight, but back-to-back wins against Dynamo Dresden and rivals Hamburg have put them in a strong position, as well as giving them some much-needed confidence.
I fancy they’ll continue this momentum against an Osnabruck side who have been inconsistent (winning one of their last four), and with stakes so high, I don’t expect Pellegrino Matarazzo’s men to slip-up.
