Build your Football Accumulators

We are closing in on the end of the EFL season, with so much still to play for across the leagues. With that in mind, Matthew O’Regan has put together a 13/1 accumulator for Saturday’s slate.

Leicester vs Swansea

Swansea Double Chance

It was announced this week that the decision to deduct six points from Leicester would be upheld, meaning the Foxes enter the weekend still in the relegation zone. Despite racking up 24 shots, 70% possession and 2.53 xG, Leicester were unable to find a second goal against an impenetrable Pierce Charles, allowing Sheffield Wednesday to pick up just their second point in 18 games.

That game summed up Leicester’s plight. Since the appointment of the experienced Gary Rowett, they have won just once a run that has plunged them into serious relegation danger. The King Power has turned toxic, with fans staying away, and Leicester have collected just 26 home points this season, the fifth-worst record in the division.

Twelve points off the playoffs and 13 clear of relegation, Swansea have all but confirmed an eighth consecutive season in the Championship. While “teams on the beach” are often accused of having nothing to play for, Vitor Matos will be keen to ensure a strong finish to secure proper backing in the summer. Results have improved under the 38-year-old, with recent points picked up away at Sheffield United and at home to Middlesbrough.

Southampton vs Derby

Southampton To Win

Southampton made national headlines with their FA Cup victory over Premier League leaders Arsenal, before following it up with a 5-1 win against play-off chasing Wrexham. The Saints are now unbeaten in 16 games, winning 13 of them, as they surge towards the playoffs and potentially mount a late automatic promotion push.

Derby have exceeded expectations this season under John Eustace and currently sit eighth, just three points behind Saturday’s hosts. However, despite a strong away record overall, they have lost four of their last five on the road and will be without talisman Patrick Agyemang.

Chesterfield vs Tranmere

Chesterfield To Win

Pre-season title favourites Chesterfield have epitomised inconsistency this season. However, four wins from five and three consecutive clean sheets have put them firmly on the brink of the playoffs. Paul Cook’s side have lost just four times at home, with an inability to turn draws into wins proving their Achilles’ heel. A strong January window has helped address that issue.

Tranmere were as big as 100/1 for relegation a few months ago, but 15 defeats in 17 games have seen them slide down the table at an alarming rate. Their only point in the last ten matches came in a 0–0 draw at Fleetwood -a game dominated by the hosts. Pete Wild’s side have also failed to score in five consecutive matches and may struggle to break down a Chesterfield team showing renewed resilience.

Salford vs Gillingham

Salford To Win

Gillingham’s victory over Accrington on Easter Monday was their first in seven games, a run in which they conceded 19 goals. Gareth Ainsworth’s side have little left to play for following a poor run of form in 2026. The Gills have won just six of their last 33 matches, with those victories coming against Bristol Rovers (in the relegation zone at the time), Newport (22nd), Harrogate (24th), Tranmere (21st), Barrow (23rd) and Accrington (16th).

Salford are aiming to end their six-season stay in League Two and now sit just three points off automatic promotion. Karl Robinson’s side have won six of their last eight games, including each of their last five at home. Those victories include impressive wins over Notts County (3rd) and MK Dons (2nd). The Ammies also boast the joint third-best home record in the league and will fancy their chances of extending their strong run against a struggling Gillingham side.

Shrewsbury vs Oldham

Oldham To Win

Six wins from seven between February and March eased any relegation fears for Shrewsbury, but their form has since tailed off. In their following six matches, their only win came against a struggling Tranmere side, while they scored just twice and failed to find the net against fellow strugglers Cheltenham and Newport County. With little left to play for, new manager Gavin Cowan may use the remaining fixtures to assess his squad ahead of next season.

Promoted in dramatic fashion via the National League play-offs, Oldham are just three points off the play-off places after an excellent run of form. The Latics have lost only once in their last 13 matches, collecting 30 points along the way. Micky Mellon’s side have also kept eight clean sheets during this run, making them a tough team to beat.
