It is the last weekend of football before Christmas, with a big slate of EFL football. Our resident EFL tipster Matthew O’Regan has a 9/1 acca across two leagues.

Leg 1: Hull vs West Brom - Over 2.5 Goals

Best odds of 10/11 at Betfred while publishing.

Despite being widely tipped for relegation at the start of the season, Hull have had a blistering start to the season, sitting in sixth place. Serej Jakirovic’s side have been chaotic, scoring 36 and conceding 35 in 21 games, for an average of 3.39. Of their 21 games, a league high 15 (71%) have seen over 2.5 goals.

Away form continues to plague West Brom, with the Baggies losing eight of their 11 away games on the road, including the last seven. These games also see an increase in goals, with just 21 in ten home games and 32 in 11 away. Of these 11 away games, seven have seen o2.5 goals, so goals are expect at the KCOM.

Leg 2: QPR vs Leicester - Over 2.5 Goals

Best odds of 19/20 at Unibet while publishing.

Topping the chart for home games seeing over 2.5 goals are QPR, who have seen it in their last six and 7/10 in total at Loftus Road. Julien Stephan arrived in the summer from Ligue 1 side Rennes and has stamped his authority on the squad, sat in ninth, just three points off the top six. Nicolas Madsen and Jonathan Varane’s industrial work in midfield allows the fluid front four, particularly Richard Kone and Rumarn Burrell, to flourish. The R’s have only failed to score once at home this season in a 0-0 draw with Oxford earlier in the season.

Leicester manager Marti Cifutenes is set for a frosty reception on his return to West London after the controversial way in which he left the club. The Foxes sit just above the hosts on goal difference, but the Spaniard will be desperate for a positive result at his old stomping ground.

While over 2.5 goals has only clicked in 4/10 at home, away games have seen three or more goals in 8/11 (73%). Only Southampton and Hull have seen it land more on the road. On top of this, the last six meetings between the sides have seen at least three goals, with The Foxes running out 6-2 winners in the FA Cup in January.

Leg 3: Colchester Over 1.5 goals

Best odds of 7/5 at AK Bets and Priced Up during publishing.

Normally renowned for their pragmatism, the Cowley brothers have got Colchester free-scoring in recent weeks. Boasting a fast, dynamic front four, the U’s have the perfect attacking balance to strike fear in most sides.

Kyreece Lisbie, signed in the summer from Braintree, has contributed 11 goals in just 13 league starts, while Harry Anderson has provided the same number on the other flank. The young strike partnership of Micah Mbick and Samson Tovide provides pace, strength, and a willingness to rough up defenders. Mbick, on loan from Charlton, has four goals from 11 starts, while academy graduate Tovide has four G/A in 12 games.

Colchester have scored at least two goals in 11 games against League Two opposition this season and will relish the chance of facing a bang out-of-form Newport County.

The Exiles sit rooted to the bottom of the table, four points adrift. The appointment of Premier League champion Christian Fuchs has failed to inspire a change in fortune, with the Austrian losing three and drawing two of his five games in charge.

It also means the Welsh side are nine games without a win in all competitions, conceding at least two goals in seven of these. County have conceded 37 goals in 20 games, as well as recently losing 3-0 at National League side Boreham Wood, so could be in for a long afternoon against Colchester’s dynamic front four.

Leg 4: Swindon vs Crawley - Swindon Over 1.5 Goals

Best odds of 4/6 at Bet Goodwin while publishing.

Under the guise of the wily Ian Holloway, Swindon are looking to return to League One after a four-year exile. The Robins currently sit in third, just two points off the top spot. With 34 goals scored, Swindon are amongst the top scorers in the league, scoring at least twice in 13/20 games and 6/10 at home.

It is a return to the County Ground for Scott Lindsey, who managed Swindon for 30 games. After failing to secure safety on his return to Crawley, the Red Devils are in serious danger of back-to-back relegations, just one point clear of the bottom two.

Crawley’s 35 goals conceded is the third most in the league, conceding a league high 23 on the road. They also rank bottom for away points, picking up just five in ten games. They have conceded 2+ in seven away games, as well as in the FA Cup loss to Boreham Wood.

The best odds for the above four-fold ACCA is 9/1 at Betfred and bet365.
