Back the hosts to keep Leipzig at bay and take all three points on Sunday.
Monchengladbach v Leipzig- Sunday 14:30, BT Sport Europe
Monchengladbach won only four of their first 17 games but their win at Bremen last time out was their third on the bounce and so they’ve moved up to 10th as they look to rescue their season. Leipzig, on the other hand, were beaten 3-0 at home by Hamburg, their fourth defeat in seven games after they were unbeaten in their first 13. They remain in 2nd but they’re now seven points off Bayern, with the gap to the chasing pack closing all the time.
For all their struggles, Gladbach have lost only two of their home games this term and have managed draws against Frankfurt and Hoffenheim, the only top-five sides to visit to date. Their record when hosting such opposition since the start of last season is W3-D2-L1 and given their improved form, we’re siding with them here.
Leipzig have lost and failed to score in their last three on the road and whilst two of those were at Dortmund and Bayern, the other was at lowly Ingolstadt. They haven’t won at a side higher than 8th and they’re also missing two of their regular back four, whilst forward Yussuf Poulsen is also out injured. As such, Gladbach look a big price to win at 2.7, but since Leipzig have failed to score in their last three away whilst Gladbach have kept a clean sheet in five of their last eight at home, we’re backing the home win to nil at 4.6.
