It could be a low scoring affair when Frankfurt play Freiburg on Sunday afternoon.
Frankfurt v Freiburg - Sunday 14:30, BT Sport 2
Frankfurt lost and failed to score for the third game in a row, this time at Hertha, and so they’ve dropped down from 3rd to 6th. Freiburg were also beaten last time out as they lost 3-0 at Dortmund, and so they remain in 9th, five points behind their hosts.
Frankfurt’s defeat against lowly Ingolstadt in their last home game was their first loss at the Commerzbank-Arena this term but the sixth time they’ve failed to score in their last nine overall, which has to be a concern for Niko Kovač. Indeed, they’ve struggled for goals all season as they’re the lowest scorers of anyone in the top-half and we expect another low-scoring encounter here.
Freiburg’s top scorer Maximilian Philipp is suspended and they’ve managed just four goals in the five games he’s failed to start this term, but average 1.4 goals when he’s lined up. They’ve lost only two of their last seven on their travels, but since only one of these was against a top-half side, we’re reluctant to side with them, particularly as they’ve lost all four trips to top-seven teams to date. Instead, we’re going to make Under 1.5 Goals our standout selection, with the 0-0 correct score of interest at 9.0.
