It’s not often you come across a side so dominant that they feel somewhat unbeatable, but that’s a little how Hansi Flick’s Bayern Munich are playing these days.

Their title was far from guaranteed as the Bundesliga resumed, but five convincing, consecutive victories in-a-row has dispelled any doubts about their supremacy for another season.

As for Gladbach, they’re right in the thick if a battle for the top four with Leverkusen and Leipzig, although Marco Rose’s men have been painfully inconsistent for the last couple of weeks; as soon as they put together a good performance, they follow-it up with a bit of a stinker.

Their latest slip-up came in the form of a 1-0 defeat at Freiburg, who are in their own right a good side, but question marks remain for me defensively, and against Bayern such issues are ruthlessly punished.

Suspensions will hurt both sides in this game. Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller are both missing for the hosts, while Alassane Plea, a key man for Gladbach, is also suspended following a red card against Freiburg.

Of course, while Lewandowski and Muller are crucial cogs for Flick, they have more than enough talent in their squad to compensate; Gladbach, however, will be hit hard by Plea’s absence, who has 10 goals this season.

Bayern also have a cup game against Frankfurt to deal with midweek, and it’ll be interesting to see how many players are rested for that, but you can be assured Flick will still prioritise the league until it’s won.

With Lewandowski missing, I like the look of Serge Gnabry to score first, priced at 5/1 at the time of writing.

Gnabry’s 12 goals this season means he’ll be the highest league goalscorer on the pitch this Saturday, and he’ll relish taking the burden off Lewandowski’s shoulders, particularly against a Gladbach side with just six clean sheets to their name this term.

The German hasn’t been at his fluent best since the league’s resumption, but with greater freedom likely to be afforded to him on Saturday, I fancy he’ll have some joy in front of goal.
