Leg 1: Como to Beat Feyenoord @ 20/21

Como travel to De Kuip with the confidence of a side that has already demonstrated its ability to compete at this level. Cesc Fàbregas’s team made an emphatic introduction to Champions League football, beating RB Leipzig 4-1 in their opening league-phase fixture. It was an impressive performance that highlighted their technical quality, attacking movement and ability to create opportunities against established European opposition.

Feyenoord, meanwhile, endured a difficult opening night, losing 5-1 away to Barcelona. Although that result came against one of the strongest sides in the competition, the manner of the defeat exposed defensive vulnerabilities that Como could look to exploit.

The Dutch side have shown considerably more promise domestically, however. Their recent victories over Utrecht and AZ Alkmaar underline their attacking potential, particularly at home, where the atmosphere at De Kuip can make life uncomfortable for visiting teams. Anis Hadj Moussa and Nacho Ferri are among the attacking players capable of causing problems if Feyenoord establish an early rhythm.

Nevertheless, Como’s ability to retain possession and create chances through players such as Nico Paz and Martin Baturina gives them a route to controlling the contest. Their opening European performance suggests they will not be intimidated by the occasion, even if their recent domestic results have been less convincing.

Feyenoord’s home advantage makes this a competitive fixture rather than a straightforward away win, but Como have already shown the attacking quality needed to punish defensive mistakes.

Leg 2: Liverpool to Beat LASK Linz @ 3/10

Liverpool head to Austria as favourites, and their opening Champions League performance provides a strong foundation for that status. The Reds began their campaign with a 2-1 victory over Atlético Madrid, demonstrating their ability to navigate a difficult European contest and secure three valuable points.

LASK, by contrast, lost 1-0 away to AEK Athens in their opening fixture. The Austrian side will need a significant improvement if they are to prevent Liverpool from dictating proceedings at the Raiffeisen Arena.

There is more to consider than the difference in reputation alone. Liverpool have the technical quality to dominate possession, move the ball quickly through midfield and stretch opposing defences with their wide attackers. If they establish control early, LASK could find themselves spending long periods defending rather than building sustained attacks of their own.

The hosts should not be dismissed entirely. LASK showed resilience during qualifying, overturning a four-goal aggregate deficit to eliminate Celtic, and their home support could help them make the opening stages uncomfortable for the visitors.

Liverpool also arrive after a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League. That result is a reminder that their defensive organisation and attacking efficiency are not beyond question. Fitness concerns surrounding players including Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo also warrant attention ahead of kick-off.

Even allowing for those complications, Liverpool possess greater individual quality and considerably more experience of high-pressure European fixtures. A response to their domestic setback would be a timely way to reinforce their Champions League ambitions.

Leg 3: Borussia Dortmund to Beat Bodø/Glimt @ 23/20

Borussia Dortmund face a challenging trip to Norway, where Bodø/Glimt will be eager to respond after a difficult start to their European campaign.

Dortmund opened their league phase with a 3-2 victory over Villarreal, a result that demonstrated both their attacking threat and the defensive work still required to become more consistent. Their recent run of results has also been encouraging, giving them reason to approach Wednesday’s fixture with confidence.

Bodø/Glimt, on the other hand, suffered a 5-0 defeat away to Bayern Munich in their opening match. The Norwegian side enjoyed a memorable run in the previous Champions League campaign, but the loss against Bayern illustrated the challenge of maintaining their usual attacking approach against Europe's elite.

Playing at Aspmyra Stadion can still provide Bodø/Glimt with an advantage. Their familiar surroundings and energetic style make them a potentially awkward opponent, particularly if Dortmund allow the hosts to dictate the tempo. The visitors will need to manage transitions carefully and avoid giving the Norwegian side opportunities to attack into space.

Dortmund's greater depth and European experience nevertheless make them an appealing selection. Their victory over Villarreal showed that they can produce decisive attacking moments even in a closely contested game. If they maintain their composure in possession and improve their defensive discipline, they should have enough quality to edge this encounter.

There is a genuine upset risk here, especially given the demands of an away fixture in Norway, but Dortmund's stronger opening performance in Europe makes them the preferred choice.

Leg 4: Aston Villa to Beat Fenerbahçe @ 4/6

Aston Villa return to European action at Villa Park with an opportunity to strengthen their position in the league phase. Unai Emery's side made a positive start to the competition, beating Club Brugge 3-2 away from home in their opening fixture.

That result highlighted Villa's attacking quality and their ability to find a way through a difficult contest. Their familiarity with Emery's tactical demands should also help them approach Wednesday's match with a clear plan, particularly when pressing high and exploiting spaces in the opposition's defensive structure.

Fenerbahçe arrive after a 1-1 draw against Roma in their opening Champions League fixture. That performance demonstrated their capacity to compete against strong European opposition, although they will need to be more consistent if they are to take points away from England.

The Turkish side possess considerable attacking talent and should not be expected to sit back throughout the contest. If they can bypass Villa's initial press, they could create opportunities on the counterattack and make the hosts work for their result.

Villa's home advantage could prove decisive, though. Their pressing, movement between the lines and ability to create chances from wide areas give them several ways to trouble Fenerbahçe. Emery's experience in European competition is another positive, particularly in matches where tactical adjustments can determine the outcome.

Villa will need to remain alert to the visitors' attacking threat, but their opening-round victory and the benefit of playing at home make them a strong candidate to collect another three points.

Leg 5: Real Madrid to Beat Roma @ 1/1

Real Madrid round off the accumulator with a demanding trip to Rome, where they will face a Roma side eager to make an impression on home soil.

Madrid began their Champions League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Inter, underlining the clinical edge that has made them such a formidable force in European football. Their ability to manage high-pressure moments and convert decisive chances remains a major advantage, particularly in matches where the margin between victory and defeat is narrow.

Roma, meanwhile, drew 1-1 away to Fenerbahçe in their opening fixture. The Italian side have made a promising start domestically under Gian Piero Gasperini, combining an aggressive pressing approach with an emphasis on possession and forward movement. Their early-season form suggests Madrid should expect a genuine test rather than an easy evening.

The tactical battle will be particularly interesting. Roma's high defensive line and willingness to press could create opportunities to win possession in dangerous areas, but they also risk leaving space behind their back line. That is a scenario Madrid are well equipped to exploit, given their ability to transition quickly and punish defensive lapses.

Roma's home advantage should not be underestimated, and their ability to sustain pressure could make this a closely fought contest. However, Madrid's European pedigree, attacking quality and experience of managing difficult away fixtures give them the edge.

At even money, the reigning European heavyweights represent an attractive final selection, although Roma's current form means this is far from a guaranteed result.
