A revitalised Cardiff could have too much for QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday.
QPR v Cardiff - Saturday 15:00
Neil Warnock is loving life at Cardiff with players, fans, the owners and local media all buying into him and the benefits of those flourishing relationships are there for all to see. The Bluebirds have won seven of their 11 league outings in 2017, climbing from 21st into the top half and their last four matches have produced 18 goals (F13 A5).
It’s a remarkable turnaround for a team that fired eight blanks in the opening 12 matches, especially when you consider that the players doing most of the damage now - Kenneth Zohore, Kadeem Harris, Craig Noone - are lost souls that Warnock inherited. It’s remarkable how much extra the Yorkshireman can coax out of his creative personnel.
Some will argue that Ian Holloway is also having the desired effect at QPR and while it’s true the Hoops are heading in the right direction again, their progress since the turn of the year hasn’t been nearly as consistent. Defeat at Preston last weekend was their fourth in the space of a month with Burton and Blackburn among those who have toppled them.
So there’s value in the away win at 15/8. Both teams have scored in each of the last six games at Loftus Road with Rangers on the right side of a 2-1 scoreline twice and the wrong side three times. It’s not much of a stretch to suggest the free-scoring visitors can get themselves into a commanding position and pick the R’s off late on. Back the Cardiff 3-1 correct score at 28/1.
