Leg 1 : Southampton to beat Bristol City

Southampton have emerged as one of the Championship’s standout form sides at exactly the right time, taking 20 points from their last eight matches while scoring a league-high 19 goals in that run. Russell Martin’s side have been particularly dominant at St Mary’s, winning five of their last six and averaging over 2.0 goals per game, with their high-tempo attacking style proving difficult to contain.

Bristol City, meanwhile, have struggled to match that level against stronger opposition, winning just one of their last seven against top-half sides and losing four of their last six away, conceding 10 goals. With Southampton firmly locked in the automatic promotion race and showing no signs of slowing down, the hosts look well-placed to extend their winning run.

Stoke City vs Millwall

Leg 2: Millwall to beat Stoke City

Millwall’s automatic promotion hopes are hanging by a thread, and realistically they’ll need to win all three of their remaining fixtures to keep pace with the top two — turning this run-in into a series of must-win “cup finals”.

They begin away at Stoke, who have lost three of their last five, although their home record offers some resistance, remaining unbeaten at the bet365 Stadium since January. That said, defeats to fellow play-off chasers Wrexham and Derby in recent weeks highlight a vulnerability when stepping up in class.

Millwall, by contrast, have been excellent on the road, winning five of their last seven away matches, and arrive with both momentum and urgency on their side. With far more at stake and a proven ability to deliver in high-pressure situations, the Lions look capable of grinding out a crucial three points.

Leg 3: Leicester vs Hull - Both Teams to Score (Yes)

Two sides with very different objectives meet on Tuesday night, but both arrive with plenty on the line. Former Premier League champions Leicester are staring at a shock drop, sitting eight points from safety with just three games remaining, leaving them with little choice but to attack.

Hull, meanwhile, occupy the final play-off spot, with pressure mounting from sides just behind them. That scenario should encourage a similarly proactive approach, particularly given their strong attacking output in recent weeks.

The numbers strongly support goals at both ends. Leicester and Hull rank 1st and 4th in the Championship for BTTS (72% and 63%), underlining just how frequently their matches deliver goals at both ends. With desperation on one side and opportunity on the other, this has all the ingredients for an open, end-to-end contest.

Leg 4: Luton to beat Rotherham

Already-relegated Rotherham host a Luton side with everything still to play for, and the contrast in motivation is hard to ignore at this stage of the season. The Millers’ campaign has unravelled in recent weeks, with defensive issues persisting and little left riding on their remaining fixtures.

Luton, by contrast, arrive full of momentum after lifting the EFL Trophy in the past fortnight, and now turn their attention to securing a play-off spot. Sitting just three points behind Stevenage with three games to play, every result is crucial — and they’ll see this as a prime opportunity.

The Hatters have won four of their last five and look well-positioned to make it five from six here, with their physical, direct style particularly effective against a Rotherham side that has struggled all season to cope with that approach.

Leg 5: Stevenage to beat Barnsley

Stevenage head into this fixture holding the final League One play-off spot, but with both Plymouth and Luton sitting just three points behind, there is absolutely no room for error in what is effectively a must-win run-in.

Alex Revell’s side have been outstanding at the Lamex Stadium in recent months, winning seven of their last nine home matches, and their defensive record underpins that success. Stevenage boast the best home defensive record in the division, conceding just 13 goals in 21 games, highlighting how difficult they are to break down on their own patch.

Barnsley arrive in Hertfordshire in poor form, winless in their last five matches, and with little left to play for in their final three fixtures. That combination of fading momentum and a tough away assignment against one of the league’s most disciplined home sides leaves Stevenage well placed to take another crucial step towards the play-offs.
