Leg 1: QPR v Swansea: Swansea to Win @ 15/8
Swansea lead the Championship with 23 points from 11 games and have conceded only eight goals, the best defensive record among the sides at the top. They beat Millwall 1-0 away last time on the road and had won four on the bounce before the home defeat to West Ham last Saturday.
QPR sit ninth with four wins, five draws and two defeats, and they have scored 15 and conceded 12. Swansea won the most recent meeting at Loftus Road 2-1 in April, and they have won three of the last six meetings. The price of 15/8 on the league leaders away from home is the best value on the card.
Leg 2: Wolves v Watford: Wolves to Win @ 4/11
Wolves are seventh with 18 points and have scored 19 goals in 11 games, with five wins. They have lost only one of five league games at Molineux and have conceded only seven goals there. The recent home form has been less convincing, with a defeat to Bolton and a late 1-1 draw with Portsmouth in midweek after Jordan James had put them ahead.
Watford are 20th and have conceded 19 goals in their first 11 league games. They have won none of their five away games, and the 2-0 win over Charlton in midweek ended a run of four straight defeats, which included a 5-1 loss at Cardiff. Wolves need a win to ease pressure on César Peixoto, and this is the fixture to get it.
Leg 3: Reading v Barnsley: Reading to Win @ 6/10
Reading are sixth in League One with 18 points from 11 games, with five wins and the best goal difference in the top half at +11 (23 scored, 12 conceded). They have scored at least 14 goals in five home league games this season, so they have been at their best at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
Barnsley are 22nd with two wins from ten and a goal difference of -9, with 10 scored and 19 conceded. A side that has scored fewer than a goal a game and let in almost two arrives at a team that scores freely at home.
Leg 4: York City v Port Vale: York City to Win @ 1/1
York City are unbeaten at home this season with four wins and two draws, and they kept clean sheets in their 4-0 win over Swindon and a 3-0 home win. The newly promoted side are sixth with 17 points. A late equaliser against Accrington in midweek kept the unbeaten home record intact.
Port Vale are 20th with 12 points and have scored only five goals in their first nine league games. They have lost four of their last five away games. Evens for the in-form hosts against a team that struggles to score on the road looks good value.
Leg 5: Gillingham v Grimsby: Gillingham to Win @ 5/2
Grimsby are 17th and have not won in five games. They have not won away from home all season, drawing four of their six away games and losing two, and they have conceded in each of their last five matches.
Gillingham are seventh with 17 points and have lost only one of six home games. They scored four away at both Rochdale and Rotherham, and they have found the net in each of their last three games. Grimsby have won four of the last eight meetings, so this is the riskiest leg of the five, but a 5/2 price on a home side in better form is the reason it adds the big odds.
