Games are coming thick and fast in the EFL and out resident expert Matthew O'Regan has a 10/1 acca lined up.
Barnsley vs Peterborough
Leg 1: Peterborough double chance
Best odds of 21/20 at AK Bets while publishing.
A January window that saw top scorer Davis Keillor-Dunn depart to Wrexham and not much in terms of replacements, has seen the Barnsley faithful looking precariously over their shoulders. The Tykes have just one win in six, having thrown away a 2-0 lead at home to fellow strugglers AFC Wimbledon to draw 3-3. Defensively, there is a lot to be concerned about – only Doncaster (50) have conceded more than Barnsley’s 49. Now without their talisman in DKD, it could be an anxious end to the season.
Peterborough looked in a relegation battle until Luke Williams was hired as manager. Under his stewardship, Posh have flown up the league and now sit just five points off a playoff spot. Five wins and five losses from their last ten has highlighted their inconsistency, but they will fancy their chances of at least a point at a despondent Oakwell.
Cardiff vs AFC Wimbledon
Leg 2: Cardiff Win
Best odds of 4/9 at BetMGM UK while publishing.
Cardiff’s comfortable 3-1 win over Luton on the weekend continued their formidable home form. The Bluebirds have now won 13 of their 16 games in the capital, including taking 31 points from a possible 33 over the last 11. Brian Barry Murphy’s side are now ten points clear of third place Bolton, with a game in hand so have one hand on promotion already.
AFC Wimbledon were heavily tipped for an instant return to League Two but have defied expectations, owing to a strong run of form until the 18th of October. Since then, The Wombles have won just three in 18 (excluding the EFL Trophy.). Johnnie Jackson’s side are also outperforming their XG, so don’t be surprised to see them regress to the mean sooner rather than later- starting with a tough mid-week trip to Wales.
Lincoln vs Northampton
Leg 3: Lincoln Win
Best odds of 21/50 at BetMGM UK while publishing.
Hot on Cardiff’s tails are Lincoln. The Imps have gone from strength to strength under Michael Skubula and are eyeing an unlikely promotion to the Championship. From 2011-2016 Lincoln were consistently finishing in the bottom half of the National League,
but their shrewd and meticulous squad planning has seen them slowly climb the leagues – chasing a place in the second tier for the first time since 1960.
In the league, The Imps are unbeaten since November and have lost just once at home – coming in a smash and grab Exeter win at the start of October. Cincil Bank has been a fortress, with Lincoln winning 11/16 – the joint second-best record in the division.
Northampton were another side heavily fancied for relegation but as of now, sit 17th in the division. However, with how tight the division is, The Cobblers are just three points clear of 23rd place Rotherham. Kevin Nolan’s side have shown fight in recent weeks and are unbeaten in three. Despite this, their away form remains a worry, picking up just 13 points from a possible 48.

Bromley vs Cheltenham
Leg 4: Bromley 2+ goals
Best odds of 4/5 at BetTom while publishing.
While Bromley maintained their unbeaten home record with a 1-1 draw against Notts County on the weekend, it marked the first time in 16 where they had failed to score 2+ at Hayes Lane – something they will look to put right on Tuesday. The Ravens are still four points clear at the top of the table and will fancy their chances of at least maintaining that.
A spurt of good form under new manager Steve Cotterill, coupled with the abysmal form of Harrogate and Newport County, has seen Cheltenham nine points from relegation. However, just one win from nine and seven losses is something of a concern for The Robins. The away form in particular is a worry, taking just 12 points from 15, conceding 32 in the process and 2+ in 8/15.
Milton Keynes vs Crawley
Leg 5: MK Dons win
Best odds of 3/5 at BetMGM UK while publishing.
As ever, MK Dons were instilled as the pre-season title favourites and despite a slow start, the Dons are still in promotion contention. Paul Warne’s side are now unbeaten in eight, with their three league losses since September coming away at Bromley (1st), Notts County (4th) and Colchester (last minute penalty). MK also boast an embarrassment of riches, further adding to an already strong squad in January with the additions of Jay Matete, Curtis Nelson and Ben Wiles – three players who should be plying their trade at a higher level.
Scott Lindsey returns to the stadium where he had six unsuccessful months, looking to end a rut of three consecutive losses without scoring. Crawley currently sit precariously near to the danger zone, just four points ahead of Harrogate. Their away form has been their detriment, picking up just nine points from a possible 48.
