Peterborough v Southend - Tuesday 19:45

Grant McCann described the 2-0 defeat to Walsall on Saturday as possibly "the worst day of my managerial career" but he might want to hold that thought and reserve judgement until after this game, because things might get a whole lot worse before they get better for the Peterborough boss. With Gwion Edwards injured and Chris Forrester suspended, the away win looks value here at 2/1.

Posh were looking good for a point at Bescot but lost their heads in stoppage time as keeper Luke McGee fumbled a corner into his own net, then Forrester received his marching orders for abusing a linesman before Kieron Morris sealed the points with the final kick. And all this after McGee and defender Dominic Ball had nearly come to blows early in the second half.

Naturally, McCann was furious with the ill-discipline of his players but he might live to regret his decision to single out individuals in his post-match interview because Southend are well capable of capitalising on any subsequent lack of desire from a team that has suffered six defeats in the last outings, including heavy defeats against Bury (1-5) and MK Dons (0-4).

The Shrimpers were frustrated by Northampton at weekend, pegged back twice in a pulsating 2-2 draw at Roots Hall but it was enough to take them above Millwall and into the top six. But eight of their 13 victories have been secured when scoring three or more goals, so split a point between the Southend 3-0 and Southend 4-0 correct score at 33/1 and 90/1 respectively.

Southend to win - 1pt @ 2/1
Southend 3-0 correct score - 0.5pts @ 33/1
Southend 4-0 correct score - 0.5pts @ 90/1
