Back Michael Brown's side to get the better of stuttering Bradford at Vale Park.
Port Vale v Bradford - Saturday 15:00
Bradford have dropped seven points from a winning position in February, doing serious damage to their play-off aspirations in the process, and the pressure might just begin to take its toll at Vale Park. Stuart McCall’s men were 2-0 up at half-time against Bolton last weekend, only to be pegged back to 2-2. Four days earlier, they were 1-0 up at Fleetwood and lost 2-1.
So having looked like a shoo-in for the top six all season, the Bantams must now cope with the presence of a strong Millwall side breathing down their necks. The Lions, eight points behind them at the end of January, are now just one point behind with a game in hand. With only four wins in 16 matches, City are not showing the form you come to expect of a 4/6 shot on the road.
The price, of course, owes much to perceptions of Port Vale but mounting concerns over personnel are probably being overplayed. Michael Brown has selection concerns with Remie Streete and Tyler Walker injured, while Kjell Knops is suspended after picking up his tenth yellow card in the 1-1 draw against Bristol Rovers. But these aren’t stellar names to begin with.
Instead, we should take heart from some spirited displays under Brown’s guidance and take a chance the home win at 5/1. It goes without saying this won’t be a cakewalk for the Valiants but they could lull the Bantams into a false sense of security and sucker punch them late on with too little time to respond. Back the Draw/Port Vale half time/full time bet at 12/1.
