Wycombe vs Plymouth: Both Teams to Score

Both teams found the net in their opening League One matches and the wider numbers make goals at either end an attractive angle at Adams Park. Wycombe began their league campaign with a 1-1 draw at Blackpool, having also lost 2-1 to Stevenage in the Carabao Cup, meaning BTTS has landed in both of their competitive matches so far.

Plymouth's recent League One record is even more compelling. Argyle have now scored in each of their last eight league matches stretching back to April, with BTTS landing in seven of those eight fixtures. The only exception was a 3-0 victory at Barnsley, while the sequence also includes 2-2, 3-1, 1-1, 2-1 and 3-2 scorelines before their opening-day 3-1 defeat to Stockport.

That makes Plymouth particularly appealing for this market. They have consistently shown an ability to score while offering opponents opportunities at the other end, and Wycombe have started 2026/27 in similar fashion. With both sides already on the scoresheet in their opening league matches.

Wigan vs Leyton Orient: Both Teams to Score

Wigan's start to the new season has immediately produced the type of games we want for a BTTS accumulator. Both teams have scored in all three of their competitive matches, with the Latics drawing 1-1 with Barnsley in the Carabao Cup before losing 3-2 at Cambridge on the opening weekend and beating Aston Villa U21s 3-2 in Tuesday's EFL Trophy fixture. Gary Caldwell's side have therefore scored six goals and conceded six across those three matches.

Leyton Orient have also found the net in all three competitive matches this season. Richie Wellens' side beat Championship opposition Oxford United 2-0 in the Carabao Cup before losing 2-1 to Sheffield Wednesday in League One and drawing 1-1 with AFC Wimbledon in midweek, with BTTS landing in their last two fixtures.

There is further encouragement in Orient's away numbers from last season. The O's scored 27 goals but conceded 41 across their 23 League One away matches, producing an average of 2.96 total goals per game. They kept just five away clean sheets, conceding 1.78 goals per game while still averaging 1.17 goals themselves.

Recent meetings between these clubs have tended to be tighter, including a 0-0 draw at Wigan in April, but the early-season evidence points towards a more open contest this time. Wigan have scored and conceded in every competitive game so far, while Orient have yet to be shut out in 2026/27.

Fleetwood vs Gillingham: Both Teams to Score

This selection requires looking beyond the opening week of the season. Fleetwood have started 2026/27 with consecutive 1-0 victories over Chesterfield in the Carabao Cup and League Two, but their defensive record towards the end of last season was considerably less secure.

Both teams scored in each of Fleetwood's final five League Two matches of 2025/26. Those games finished 5-2 against Barnet, 2-1 against Accrington, 1-1 against Chesterfield, 2-2 against Shrewsbury and 1-1 against MK Dons. Fleetwood scored eight times across that sequence but conceded 10, failing to record a clean sheet in any of the five.

Gillingham are yet to score this season following 3-0 defeats against Luton and Walsall, so there is clearly more risk attached to this leg. However, Gareth Ainsworth's side finished last season with plenty of chaotic contests, with three consecutive BTTS results in April as they lost 2-1 at Cheltenham, 4-1 against Grimsby and 6-2 at Barnet.

There is also encouragement from the recent head-to-head record. Fleetwood won 2-1 at Highbury last season, before the return meeting at Priestfield finished 1-1, with Shaun Rooney scoring a stoppage-time equaliser for the Cod Army. Given Fleetwood's run of BTTS matches to finish last season and Gillingham's defensive vulnerability, we are backing the visitors to finally get off the mark while conceding again themselves.

Rochdale vs Crawley: Both Teams to Score

Rochdale and Crawley both drew blanks in their opening League Two matches, with Dale beaten 3-0 at Newport and Crawley losing 1-0 at home to Crewe. However, the longer-term numbers suggest Saturday's game at Spotland has the potential to develop into a much more open contest.

Rochdale's home matches became particularly reliable for BTTS during the closing stages of their promotion campaign with both teams scoring in each of their final four home matches in all competitions.

Crawley's away games also opened up towards the end of 2025/26. The Red Devils scored six goals across their final three League Two away matches, beating Newport 2-0 before losing 3-1 at Bristol Rovers and drawing 3-3 at Accrington. Their final two away fixtures alone therefore produced 10 goals, with Crawley both scoring and conceding in each.

Neither side made the attacking start they wanted last weekend, but the previous home and away trends suggest they are capable of responding. Rochdale's run of BTTS matches at Spotland makes this an appealing final selection for the 8/1 four-fold.
