Lorient's good home form could see them through when they play Marseille on Sunday.
Lorient v Marseille - Sunday 14:00, BT Sport ESPN
Lorient remain bottom of Ligue 1 after their third straight defeat, this time a 1-0 loss at Rennes, though they’re six points from safety so they aren’t without hope. Marseille, meanwhile, were thumped 5-1 at home by PSG, their fifth defeat in eight, and so they remain 7th.
After three straight home wins, Lorient have since managed only one point from their last three at the Stade du Moustoir but they’ve been impressive when hosting some of the better sides in Ligue 1. If we exclude the top three, Lorient are W4-D1-L0 at home to top-half sides this term, despite the fact that they kept only one clean sheet in these.
Marseille have lost their last three on the road and have won only twice on their travels all season, so they look too short at 2.3. They also have some injury concerns as Patrice Evra is out, as is top-scorer Bafetimbi Gomis and they’ve lost three of the four games the striker has missed this term, including both away games, at Metz and Montpellier. We’re backing Lorient to win and make it four home wins in eight.
