Hull v Burnley – Saturday 15:00

Hull have made an excellent start to life under Marco Silva, securing seven points from five games (1.4 points per game), compared with just 0.83 under Mike Phelan, and this despite facing Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal in their last four. At home, they’ve only lost once in seven, winning both games at the KCOM Stadium under their new coach.

Burnley suffered a rare home defeat against non-league Lincoln in the FA Cup, though they cannot use team selection as an excuse with players such as Heaton, Keane, Barton, Vokes and Gray all starting. It leaves the Clarets winless in three across all competitions, whilst their top-flight away record this season reads W0-D1-L10, though it should be noted that eight of their 11 away fixtures this term have been against sides currently in the top half of the table.

However, Hull will have to make do without key players Abel Hernandez and Curtis Davies amongst others for this one, with the Tigers’ win percentage jumping from just 7% to a much more respectable 40% when the former starts, failing to score in five of their last seven without him. Whilst Burnley have a couple of injury problems themselves in midfield, Hull’s mounting selection problems should make this as good an opportunity as any for Burnley to pick up a win on the road. We’re backing Burnley (draw no bet) at 2.78.
